This past week of August 1, 2022, we accomplished the following work:
- Continued to process steel and concrete removed from the old Eastbound bridge and trucking it off site
- Completed rebar placement for Pier 1 Cap and Pier 2 Stem
- Prefabricated rebar cage for Pier 2 Cap
- Poured concrete at the Pier 1 Cap and Pier 2 stem
- Set formwork for the Pier 2 Cap
- Chipped existing concrete at Pier 3 Cap
- Began Abutment 2 modifications
- Begin placing temporary bents in river for steel erection
The Contractor will be working Saturday, August 6.
During the week of August 7, 2022, we will:
- Continue to process steel and concrete removed from the old Eastbound bridge
- Set rebar cage and pour concrete at Pier 2 Cap
- Complete chipping existing concrete at Pier 3 Cap
- Possibly set formwork for Pier 3 Cap
- Prefabricate rebar cage for Pier 3 Cap
- Continue Abutment 2 modifications
- Drive pile in river for temporary bents for steel erection
Channel Update:
The Contractor is currently constructing a temporary bent for steel erection in Span 2, which is over the navigation channel. The bent will be in place until late September. It will be well-lit and delineated so boaters can see it well in advance. A 75’ channel will be maintained between the bent and Pier 2.
