This past week of August 15, 2022, we accomplished the following work:
- Completed rebar placement for Pier 3 Pier Cap
- Poured concrete at Abutment 2 footing, pour 1 of 2
- Set formwork for the Pier 3 Cap
- Set Pier 3 Pier Cap reinforcing cage
- Cured concrete at Pier 1 Pier Cap
- Continued to monitor and control dust and other environmental best management practices (BMPs)
The Contractor will be working Saturday, August 20th.
During the week of August 21, 2022, we will:
- Pour concrete for Pier 3 Pier Cap
- Pour concrete for Abutment 2 footing, pour 2 of 2
- Continue Abutment 2 modifications
- Continue to form Abutment 1 finger joint drainage trough
- Continue to drill and install dowel reinforcing at Abutment 2
- Strip concrete formwork at Pier 2
- Begin sounding and selective concrete demolition repairs
- Begin to take delivery of structural steel members and crossframes
- Continue installation of temporary steel bent supports in preparation of steel erection activities in September, presently anticipated to begin September 6th
Channel Update:
The Contractor is currently constructing a temporary bent for steel erection in Span 2, which is over the navigation channel. The bent will be in place until late September. It will be well-lit and delineated so boaters can see it well in advance. A 75’ channel will be maintained between the bent and Pier 2.
